Basic Knowledge
The
Eye Agate is very similar to the
Banded Agate. The difference is in the changes in stone
color forming an "eye". A Mexican agate, showing only
a single eye, has received the name of "cyclops agate."
The
Tiger Eye Agate is the most famous of the eye agate types. Both
Zeus and Athena of Greek mythology had tiger eyes as representative
stones (as well as others). Tiger's eye (also Tigers eye, Tiger
eye) is a chatoyant gemstone that is usually yellow- to red-brown,
with a silky luster. It is a fibrous silicified crocidolite,
a classic example of pseudomorphous replacement. An incompletely
silicified blue variant is called Hawk's eye. A member of the
quartz group, its physical and optical properties are identical
or very near to those of single-crystal quartz.
Tiger
iron is an altered rock composed chiefly of tiger's eye, red
jasper and black hematite. The undulating, contrasting bands
of color and luster make for an attractive motif. Tiger iron
is a popular ornamental material used in a variety of applications,
from beads and cabochons to knife hilts. Along with tiger's
eye it is mined primarily in South Africa and Western Australia.

Things
Known |
10 -Common |
Primitive tribes, human and otherwise, see eye agates
as powerful objects, often fearing them. This primal feeling
of being watched by unknown powers causes fear and mistrust
of those who where them.
|
20-Uncommon |
Agates are soft stones. Though they can hold powerful
magic they often 'leak' that magic over time.
|
30-Obscure |
Eye Agates, like all agates, are often used for protection,
but they are mostly used for protection of something coming
close to the wearer, such as poison, a type of creature
or outsider, or enhance abilities such as being able to
discern the truth of a statement.
|
40-Very Obscure |
The Dwarves of Burok Torn mistrust Tiger Eye and Eye Agates,
since the attack of the Ion Beholders. They understand (probably
better than anyone) that they two have nothing in common,
and they don't talk about it, but still they hold the mistrust
of them when they notice them inside the city. |

Rare Uses and Items
Eye
of the Desert Lotus
Eyes of the Desert Lotus are pendants created by the sorceress
of the Ukrudan Desert. These are very rare and guarded from
outsiders fiercely. The pendant has the power to allow the wearer
to see the closest Desert Lotus flower. This serves three very
important purposes. First off the Desert Lotus is a very strong
anti-toxin and counters the comatose state brought on by the
White Lotus. The second is a side effect, but very valued purpose.
The Desert Lotus only grows in oasis's where it has plenty of
sun and water. Since it can only grow by a constant source of
water, the wearer of a Desert Lotus pendant is assured to be
able to find water as well.
The third purpose or power of these pendants is that the Eye
will close or go dark whenever it comes within 60 ft of a White
lotus flower. This is important because the white lotus only
grows in dark places, out of the sun. These pendants are only
truly useful in the Ukrudan Desert and places where the two
flowers grow, but they are priceless to the tribesman who live
in those lands.
