Basic Knowledge
Azurite
is a carbonate mineral. Azurite is often found in association
with the green mineral malachite as a result of the weathering
and oxidation of copper sulfide minerals.
The name azurite comes from the Arabic or Persian lazhward,
meaning "blue". Azurite is used in jewelry and also
collected as a beautiful mineral specimen.
Azurite has been used as a blue mineral pigment for centuries.
It was formerly known as Azurro Della Magna
(from
Italian). When mixed with oil it turns slightly green. When
mixed with egg yolk it turns green-grey. It is also known by
the names Blue Bice and Blue Verditer.
The Ancient Egyptians felt that Azurite was sacred and represented
the path to heaven.

Rare Uses and Items
The
Azurite Daggers of Shelzar
The Dagger Fighters of Shelzar are known throughout the land
as dangerous and cunning opponents. The tradition of Dagger
fights goes back many centuries in the city. Once there was
a prize for the greatest of these gladiators, the Azurite Daggers.
The original daggers were lost during the Titan war, and no
others have taken thier place since that time, at least not
in Shelzar. The recovery of these two weapons would be gratefully
rewarded.
They are small daggers made of copper with handles of azurite.
The blades, though short, cut deep (+4) and emit a large electrical
charge when both strike an opponent in the same round (4d6).
