- A sinewy grey form streaks through the sky, its eyes crackling with electricity. Its body is dappled dark gray above to nearly white below, and its head is framed by whiskers that constantly shift as if constantly blown by a breeze. It smells of rain, lightning and storms, and windblown debris constantly swirls around it.
- Stormwrack dragons were often used as spies and assassins by the Titan armies, though their capricious nature and delight in wanton destruction often resulted in their detection. After the war’s end, these fractious creatures scattered, much to the immediate relief (and later chagrin) of the divine races.
- Stormwrack dragons prefer to lair in high, windswept areas, which usually places them in mountaintop caverns. Additionally, these areas provide security and often violent weather, both of which appeals to these beasts.
Combat
- Stormwrack dragons prefer to attack from a distance, typically using their breath weapon first. They stay aloft, sweeping over opponents and hovering to melee. Stormwrack dragons are smart enough to single out spellcasters and archers, eliminating opponents who can deal damage from a distance first.
- If forced from the air, or unable to escape, a stormwrack dragon will attempt to negotiate for its life, offering information, service or even treasure. If escape or negotiation is impossible, a stormwrack dragon will seek to cause as much damage as possible.
- Air Mastery (Ex): Airborne creatures take a -1 penalty on attack and damage rolls against a stormwrack dragon.
- Breath Weapon (Su): A stormwrack dragon’s breath weapon is a 30 foot line of thunderous lightning, dealing 8d10 electrical damage (Ref DC 17). Additionally, any creature within the line and up to 20 away must also succeed on a Fort save (DC 17) or be deafened for 1d4 rounds. It can use this ability once every 1d4 rounds.
- Frightful Presence (Ex): 120 feet; DC 17 Will save or become panicked for 4d6 rounds if less than 3 HD or levels, or be shaken for 4d6 rounds if 4 HD or levels or higher.
- Immunities: Stormwrack dragons are immune to electrical damage, as well as paralysis, poison and sleep effects.
- Spells: Stormwrack dragons cast spells as 9th level sorcerers (DC 11 plus spell level). Stromwrack dragons prefer spells connected to air, lightning and weather, and can draw spells from the druid and cleric spell lists that fall into these criteria (as determined by DM).
