I agree, with both comments... this is very cool.. and WTF? on the Baldur thing? That's the first thing I read when I got to the Aseir section and the first thing I thought... wow... so should we also just toss out the whole Asgarrd thing as well? sheesh...

I don't think you should do the dead Celtic Gods... seriously... don't do the same mistake. I mean, how do you have a Washer at the Ford for Cúchulainn, if Cúchulainn is going to be alive? That isn't right.. and it takes away from the Morrigan, Medb... well.. the whole Tain Bo Cuailnge just goes away really.. or it was never fought -- which would what? -- make Cúchulainn a coward? ... that can't be good.. and certainly not worth it just to let some whinning 12 year-old play a Cúchulainn Scion (because anyone older than 12 wouldn't think of doing it).

Anyway.. if it is of any help, NO.. Don't Do IT ! Make the BAD MAN Stop!

I'm going to stick with the Celtic Pantheon... because it is huge. Also, in the Scion Source Books, White Wolf created sources for dead gods like Baldur, which I kind of feel was a mistake -- much of the tone of the Norse mythology is based on the fact that Baldur is not only dead, but was killed in the manner that he was, and by who he was killed by, and how. I mean, seriously, how do you keep putting out there, like they do, that Loki is the great betrayer, when Baldur is walking around free? Thor looses his dark side, all kinds of things break down in the mythology of the Norse pantheon if Baldur is alive and current starring in the latest action film.

So, anyway, this is on my mind right now as I'm working on the final version of the Morrigan, and thinking that most of the Ulster Cycle is dead -- and what it means if they are still alive -- and seeing many of the same problems.

I understand that it is a game, and a fantasy, and all of that, but it is a game based on the myths, and the myths have appeal and purpose because of some very basic and required events. I seriously would have some trouble Storytelling if one of my players had a Baldur Scion.

So, I'm still not sure I'm going to be publishing any of the dead Celtic gods, or goddesses.
