Burok Torn is a city-state
of dwarves. We are tempted sometimes to think of Burok Torn
as the only city-state of dwarves in the Scarred Lands, but
of course that simply isn't true. In fact, if we look at "dwarves"
as a main race, and include Charduni, for example as a sub-race
of dwarves, then there are whole sections of the southern and
northern continents which belong to the dwarven nation. Burok
Torn becomes one of many in this case. Of course, no one does
put Charduni into that position on the sturdy tree of dwarven
existence. In fact, anyone trying to graph that particular limb
onto the dwarven tree of life, would probably find themselves
at the bottom of a hot forge.
