One of the last practitioners of the true rites of Viper, the
deity who gave dragons their power, and the self-proclaimed
runner-up to the god, Python wields tremendous power. Having
the ability of the normal sorcerer with the added effects of
serpent and other reptile control and summoning, she makes for
a very dangerous target, as well as a very ambitious one. Her
plans include not only herself, but any and all who take this
oath upon themselves to be loyal to her forever:
“I hereby swear my allegiance to She Who Stands Before
Me, the Almighty Python, Just Empress, Fair Ruler, and Nightmare
Of All Those Who Oppose Her. By this oath, which I so gladly
swear, until the day She disbands me of her service, I pledge
not only my unwavering fealty, but also my everlasting trust
in Her and loyalty in all She does. I take this vow not to strengthen
my own power, but to instead reinforce Python’s strength,
no matter how little I may be of service. Should I be accepted,
I will never back down from these duties; however, should I
do so, I willingly lay down all prowess, prestige, and power
The Great Python has helped me achieve. Am I to be worthy of
service to you, my Lady?”
Whereupon, she responds with an extremely formal comment, personalized
to each and every follower of hers who takes the oath.
So far, there seem to be few who would devote their entire
lives to such a semmingly untraustable character, for she has
the power to ploymorph herself at will, looking like any human
you can imagine, including the most beautiful woman you've ever
seen, but sometimes she goes for the more reptilian form of
a snake. All that business of trust is about to change, but
will it be for the better? Or for the worse?

In Greek
mythology Python was the earth-dragon of Delphi, always
represented in the vase-paintings and by sculptors as a serpent.
Pytho was the chthonic enemy of Apollo, who slew it and remade
its former home his own oracle, the most famous in Greece. (But
see also Dodona.)
